About Us

The Wastequip Story, in Brief

Privately held Wastequip is the leading North American manufacturer of waste handling equipment. Headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina with manufacturing and service facilities throughout North America, the company has over 2,000 employees working at 38 facilities.

With locations throughout the United States and Canada, we serve our customer base on a local level while delivering economies of scale that smaller manufacturers cannot achieve. Since many of our brand companies serve sectors in which it can be difficult and costly to ship products from remote locations, this gives us a distinct advantage over competitors with a smaller footprint.

Comprehensive Line of High-Quality Products

Wastequip has built a reputation for product innovation and manufacturing expertise. Our company is the only manufacturer that offers a full line of steel and plastic products to collect, handle and transport just about any type of waste and recyclable. We pursue a brand-centric, go-to-market strategy, maintaining distinct sales teams for each of our brands, including Wastequip®, Galbreath®, Amrep™, Mountain Tarp™, Pioneer™, ConFab, Toter®, Accurate™, Wastebuilt,® ContainerPros®, wasteware and Wastequip WRX.

With the broadest portfolio of products on the market today, Wastequip is composed of the most well-respected brands in the waste management industry — brands known for quality products, unparalleled service, and the deep industry knowledge and expertise of their teams. Several of our company brands have been in existence for 50 or more years.

Wastequip History and Vision

Wastequip was created to consolidate the highly fragmented and regionalized waste equipment manufacturing sector. Our vision was to provide the large and growing base of national haulers with a single source for their waste hauling needs, including standardized equipment, highly durable products, inventory availability, faster delivery and outstanding customer service.

Wastequip established an extensive North American manufacturing and service footprint. Over the course of three decades, Wastequip strategically purchased the top companies and best brands — from refuse to hoists, carts and tarping systems — and united them under the Wastequip name.

Partnerships, Networks and Leadership

Wastequip maintains strong partnerships with large national haulers, as well as many of the smaller regional and local players, and our products are currently in use in thousands of municipalities across North America. We have also developed strong fleet relationships across other market segments. Many of these customer relationships have been in place for a number of years, giving us a strong competitive advantage and creating a barrier to entry for other organizations.

Wastequip’s executive team has deep expertise in the industries we serve, a proven history of increasing profitability and developing new markets, and a wealth of experience in the waste, trucking, construction, hardware, plastics and consumer goods industries. Many of our leaders have been with our brand companies for 15+ years, giving them unparalleled knowledge and valued industry relationships.

A Strong Commitment to Innovation

Many of our technologies were the first of their kind and others remain patented, giving us a distinct competitive advantage. We invest heavily in research and development, with a mandated number of yearly hours devoted to product improvement, new product development and relevant product sourcing.

Wastequip and its affiliated brands have a strong track record of innovation and new product development. With deep industry ties and knowledge, our team members excel in identifying market needs and delivering new technologies to fill product gaps.
